Students from Dr. Michelle Goman's Geography 317 Class were awarded "Best Water-Related Project" at the 2014 SSU Science Symposiun. Their poster, entitled "Real Trees Have Curves: Dendrochronology at Fairfield Osborn Preserve," used tree ring analysis to determine age distribution of trees and the frequency of land slides at sites in SSU's Fairfield Osborn Preserve. The award was presented by County Supervisor Shirlee Zane.
