Professional Training: Map Making with Open Source GIS

This online webinar will teach students and the general public how to use open source programs to create maps and keep track of spatial data. This webinar is meant to help participants decide which free program best suits their map-making and map sharing needs. We will primarily use Google My Maps and QGIS. No previous experience or knowledge is required. This event is recommended for ages 15 and up, and is geared toward students or life-long learners.

Please make sure you have a working Gmail account. If you would like to participate in the live activity walkthrough, watch out for an email containing a zip file folder with GIS layers and files closer to the event date.

Zoom meeting details will be sent to you upon registration. If you have not used Zoom before, please allow time to download and install the application before the event. Please log-in a few minutes early, as it may take more than one attempt if servers are busy.
