CEI Supports Pollinator Week with Special Collaborative Proclamation

SSU's Center for Environmental Inquiry has come together with SSU Facilities & Landscaping, SSU's Office of Tribal Relations, SSU's Agroecology Garden, and the City of Rohnert Park to support pollinators!

In honor of this year's Pollinator Week, from June 22-26, CEI joined its partners to craft a special proclamation signed by the City of Rohnert Park to codify its support and highlight the ways SSU and CEI preserves, gardens, and practices contribute to the health of our region's pollinators, including native insects, birds, and other wildlife.

Rohnert Park Mayor Emily Sanborn read the proclamation at Fairfield Osborn Preserve in a special ceremony on June 3, 2026.

Also in attendance were the director of SSU's Office of Tribal Relations, Elisa-Alexandria Green; SSU's Landscaping manager, Christa Irwin; representatives from CEI, and SSU students.

Now, Therefore, be it Proclaimed that I, Emily Sanborn, as Mayor and on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim June 22-28, 2026, as Pollinator Week in Rohnert Park and encourage all residents to learn about the vital role pollinators play in our environment and to support them through pollinator-friendly practices and community stewardship.
