Environmental Engineering to Poetry
SSU Stevenson Hall, room 1102
Mon, Nov 30, 12:00 pm
– 12:50 pm
Admission Fees: none
Join us to hear the career journey of an Environmental Engineer turned Sonoma County Poet Laureate! Dave Seter was nine years old when the polluted Cuyahoga River caught on fire. That event inspired him to become an environmental engineer -- he began his career cleaning up drinking water back east, then moved on to clean up abandoned mines out west. All the while he remained a poet at heart. He uses his words to speak for wildlife, for the land, and to speak to the human heart.
During this 40 minute presentation, you'll hear about his journey, as well as his approach to writing about social and environmental issues such as the intersection of the built world and the natural world. This will be followed by 10 minutes of Q&A with students in SSU's "Environmental Forum" course.
