Nicole is deeply enthusiastic about sustainability, wellness, and Earth education. Her interest in the natural world began with a childhood fascination with rocks and volcanoes, leading her to earn geology degrees from the University of Oregon and the University of Texas, as well as a Wilderness First Responder certificate. She has taught a wide variety of geology and environmental science courses at SSU, the College of Marin, and Santa Rosa Junior College, and currently teaches through the SSU Geology Department and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). Additionally, she teaches barre, yoga, and functional anatomy classes at Blue Door Yoga & Wellness, and offers community education via her business, Appreciating Earth. Her diverse interests in geology and wellness converge to strengthen her central mission of fostering environmental stewardship.
