Correlations with Residential Water Usage

A Look at the Built Environment and More

Abstract

We are interested in the build environment, how many gallons per capita per day (GPCD) of water usage exist in different California counties, and how different variables could impact residential water usage. Are these data sets available and accessible, and if not then are there proxy data we can use? We used Excel manipulation and Xlookup functions, conducting correlation analysis to compare selected variables to residential water usage. We then examined results with R values greater than or equal to 0.3, as well as counterintuitive results.
