Effects of climate on amphibians and reptiles
Effects of climate on amphibians and reptiles
Wolf and St. John 2019: We studied the reptile and amphibian community responses to weather in the grasslands of Fairfield Osborn Preserve using coverboards. As temperature increased the number of reptiles increased and the number of amphibians decreased generally. This study could be useful for studying climate change based on the arrival and disappearance times of the organisms being observed because amphibians are seen more often in wetter weather and reptiles are seen more often in hot, dry weather.
