Comparing salamander abundance in restored and unrestored habitat

Comparing salamander abundance in restored and unrestored habitat

To investigate the abundance of salamanders, we conducted research in the Fairfield Osborn Preserve, where ecological restoration has taken place, and Sugarloaf State Park, where no restoration has been performed. We surveyed for salamanders, and also measured water pH and hardness, and canopy cover. We conclude that the Pacific Giant Salamander can live where pH is between 7.5 and 8, Alkalinity is between 120 and 200, with moderate to high amounts of canopy coverage
