Remote Soil Moisture Monitoring
Abstract

The Center for Environmental Inquiry (CEI) needs a way to collect environmental data from the Fairfield Osborn Preserve (FOP) without having to visit the site in person. 

Our LoRa-based system enables remote sensors to report soil moisture levels to preserve staff, who can then access the data through a web application.

Previously, there had been no infrastructure at these remote sites to support data transmission without relying on LTE or other services that come with ongoing costs.
