This pilot project engages community members in long-term bird monitoring studies at three restoration sites in the Navarro River watershed in Anderson Valley. Through deploying recording devices and uploading the recordings to the Arbimon software platform, bird-song recordings are now readily available for long-term studies by students or community members. The project introduced the community to new technologies that can transform the way we see the world. The goal of the project was to increase participants’ personal connection to the environment while gathering crucial data on changes in bird diversity over time.
